General Information

Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) produces a 3-dimensional digital reconstruction of teeth and associated tissues.  The Morita F40 CBCT system produces high resolution images that allows for the precise analysis of teeth and bone anatomy.

CBCT Images - Vertical Root Fracture

The images acquired from this CBCT scan show a vertical root fracture present in the left upper second premolar.  The adjacent tooth has a dark area at the end of its roots.  This is indicative of infection of the pulp space.  Root canal therapy would be warranted for the left upper first molar.

Trauma Related Fractures

Traumatic fractures of the teeth and supporting bone can be precisely visualized for subsquent treatment planning purposes.  The yellow arrow points to a fracture of the right upper central incisor.

Microscope

High magnification and excellent lighting enhance the clinician's ability to find and treat complexities within the root canal system.

Other Technologies

In addition to the aforementioned tools, we employ a variety of technologies in our routine treatment.  These include digital radiography, which produces high resolution, low dosage radiographs immediately.  Digital photography is also employed to adequately document and communicate with your dentist.  Specialized equipment, such as ultrasonics, allow for the precise and quality care.
